Ukrainian Trip 2011 Aly El Hakim, Egypt: To all my lovely Ukrainian friends. I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of the Ukrainian trip 2011. This trip is life experience to me, I ve never seen such hospitality and kindness as I found from the Ukrainians. And ofcourse nothing can compare to the Ukrainian parties . My advice to every Rotaractor to participate in this magnificent trip. Azucena B. Islas, Mexico: Ukrainian trip was an amazing experience! I met so many nice and lovely people who will be in my heart forever! Our rotaractors took us to many places and I´ve got to learn so much about Ukraine! Definitely a must experience!! Jacopo La Rosa, Italy: Ukrainian trip was definetly a wonderful experience, in a country with a long and interesting history, full of fascinating places and facts. I had the opportunity to travel for 10 days with 4 other rotaractors across all the western part of the country. We have seen vast landscapes, ancient forests, modern cities and rural villages sharing experiences that we will never forget. We visited and partied in one of the biggest european cities, Kyiv, we saw how Cossaks once lived, we bathed in the Dnipro river and walked trough the Carpathian forests, but that is just a part of what Ukrainian Trip really is, you really have to be there to understand... I've met some really warm and friendly people, it was one of the best trips and adventures that I've ever had! Piriye Altraide, Australia: Even after all this time, I'm still catching my breath Ukraine. Wow, what an unreal trip. A shout out to the Ukrainians: Clubs of Cherkasy, Lviv, Truskavets, Uzhgorod and Rivne. You hosted us like your own, you rocked, you partied like crazy, you taught us so much about your country. Museums, beautiful churches, borsche, verynike, much much vodka, cognac and "Bud-moh", sleepless nights, night trains, planes, automobiles, pit toilets, party party party, breathtaking forests, hot coal baths and mountain rivers, mineral water, lunch with the mayor, becoming TV celebrities- thanks to you we did it all! A special shout out to the Clubs of Kyiv- you guys rockk!! Team awesome. The brains behind the experience: Mariana, Anton, Natalia, Nastia, Sasha, Artem, Svetlana and so many, many more. Rotaract Ukraine you blew my socks off with your hospitality, sweetness and massive spirit of fun. This trip was more than a holiday, but a life changing experience for me. I’ve met more than companions... I've made such special friends for life. We are in still touch, because I know we WILL meet again! Graham Shular, Canada: What a thrill it was to be selected as one of the lucky participants of Ukraine Trip 2011! From the moment I landed in the airport in Kyiv I was welcomed by friendly faces and everything seemed so “mysterious” (which was the theme of the trip!). The Rotaracters and Rotarians that we met were wonderfully kind, helpful, and fun to be around – they were the best tour guides any traveler could ask for! Long days of adventure, traveling to new places, seeing historic sites and being a part of the beautiful Ukrainian landscape were matched with nights of dancing, eating, drinking and bonding. Traveling by night train was such an amazing experience – we don’t have the same type of transportation in Canada and it was wonderful to spend time on these trains with my Rotaract friends – it really was “mysterious.” The culture in Ukraine is very strong and incorporates many old traditions with new innovations. One of my favourite parts of Ukrainian culture is Ukrainian food! REAL chicken Kyiv, deruny (potato dish), famous Ukrainian borscht, salo (pork fat), transcarpathian-roasted meat, and varenyky – I loved every bit of it! Let’s not forget the meaningful toasts to friendship that accompanied every meal; they really tied our group together as a family. I think my favourite part of the entire journey though, was the chance to meet the wonderful people of Ukraine. They were very hospitable, kind, generous and crazy as well! I miss Ukraine Trip 2011 very much… The one thing I miss most though, was the sleep we didn’t get! I had to sleep for five days straight when I got home to recuperate! Thank you for having us, Ukraine. Till we meet again – Bood’mo! Rasmus Tobiasen, Denmark: I think the Ukranian Trip was an amazing experience to get to know the country `behind the scenes´ and see it in a way you would never get through a travel agency. But more important than anything else, it gave the participants the chance to get to know all you brilliant Ukrainian Rotaracters. In fact Sergiy (from RAC Kyiv-Centre) is coming to visit me in Copenhagen this Spring, and already this Summer I will be going back to Ukraine also. So very much in the Rotaract spirit, the trip for me was very much about gaining new friendships... Anna Mkrtchyan, Armenia: It was unforgettable adventure in beautiful country with hospitable and heartfull people. During this short period we,10 participants from 10 different countries get lot of new friends, had lot of fun and spent wonderful time together. I think each of us will remember it with smile and warm fellings. It was funny, interesting and amazing. Thanks to all Ukrainian Rotaractors for such unforgettable and warm welcome. Egor Prokofyev, Russia: I was a participant of the Ukrainian trip 2011. And I am totally certain that it was the most exciting experience of mine in 2011. Me and my 4 new best friends took the western route. Oh my god, I've never seen so many smiling faces as I've seen on the trip. Truly, great faces, great places! Big thanks to the Ukrainian trip's crew. They did everything just perfectly! I love Ukraine, I love Ukrainian Rotaract and I love my Western crew! Polona Gradišek, Slovenia: I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to take part at the Ukrainian trip! Great hospitality of Rotaractors, their kindness, delicious food, awesome parties, beautiful landscape and interesting cities … and many new friends! I was smiling all the time in Ukraine There was such a good energy! And trip was full of »mysterious« adventures :) Karolina Abdel Malek, Poland: Ukrainian Trip was the highlight of my summer in 2011! Not only I saw beautiful places, visited amazing cities, but I met my future Rotaract family! The tremendously lovely people that I met in Ukraine, who hosted me, took care of me and the rest of the visitors and kept us company, were quite incredible. I'm definitely rich in experience, memories and emotions! Also my new great friends from all over the world, that travelled across Ukraine with me.. We all bonded to create a great group of smiling, happy people. Thank you Ukraine, thank you to each and single one of you who made it possible for me to attend Ukrainian Trip 2011. In Rotaract we unite! Ukrainian Trip 2010 Gilang Aditya Lestari, Indonesia: joining that trip was an awesome experience...especially that I could met up with Ukrainian Rotaractors... so.... Thank you very much for inviting me to the trip. It was fantastic to meet Ukrainian Rotaractors and knowing Ukrainian history and culture during the trip. Thank you for the hospitality and food :) Caglar Acoglu, Turkey: I had fun. I have to say,I really like people and their hospitality.I knew something about Ukraine before I went there and it was the proof that I am right to like Ukranians :) Ukrainian Trip 2009 1. What did you like the most about Ukraine? Eiston Lo, Canada: Food! Ukraine has many yummy delicacies. One of my favorites is the "FurCoat" that I tried in Kyiv!:) Leo Mokodompit, Indonesia: Family. It was the first time I met these guys from seven different countries and, of course, the hosts, but it felt like meeting long-time-no-see best friends… So warm, so LOVELY and full of happiness! Bethany Caldwell, the USA: The Ukrainians, of course! I have never met a more friendly and inviting group... and crazy as well! 2. What is Ukrainian Trip for you? Leo Mokodompit, Indonesia:
Most recommended Rotaract Int'l trip project: I'll recommend all
Rotaractors from all around the world to apply for this amazing trip.
Five stars! Bethany Caldwell, the USA: A unique opportunity to take the knowledge I gained and fun I had and share it with friends, family, and other Rotaractors back at home. 3. What tips do you have for future applicants of Ukrainian Trip? Eiston Lo, Canada:
Future applicants should be flexible, open minded, and willing to be
adventurous. Keep an open mind is the most important I think. As well,
it will help, if on each team, there's at least someone who can speak
Russian/Ukrainian. Language barrier is not usually a barrier but it
definitely helps at times. Leo Mokodompit, Indonesia: Do your
best in filling out the form (do a research about Ukraine intensively)
and impress the Ukrainian Trip Team so they will pick you as one of
participants... or you'll miss a chance in a lifetime to feel the
FANTABULOUS Ukrainian trip! Bethany Caldwell, the USA: Go into this experience open-minded and excited; it is what you make of it. |
